Online booking system

Doc Huts has been built for concessioners and uses an in-memory cookie, which is set to last no longer than 30 minutes. The cookie itself doesn't collect any personal information about you (it is used to hold basic authentication-related information) and the content is encrypted. Information you provide as part of the booking process is retained on a secure site so we can contact you regarding your booking and maintain and manage your booking. If you have indicated acceptance in completing surveys or evaluations on your booking, you may be contacted within the next 18 months. Your information will not be passed onto third parties.

These conditions are in addition to the mandatory requirements as described in the Concessions Documents.

All parties are to be advised that this is a notification system and not a booking system so a notification does not automatically entitle users exclusive rights to bunks, facilities or the area. Backcountry etiquette of first in first served stands and all users of the Kaweka Forest Park are advised to take sufficient camping equipment in case huts are full.

Conditions for Concessioners

Only one helicopter party to each location at any one time, except: On the day of pick-up another party is able to be dropped in on that day provided the drop off time is after 10am, similarly for pick-ups that overlap with a pre-notified drop off date. When there are differing user groups at a site (eg hunters and kayakers) and the concessionaire of the party which has the first notification has agreed to an additional landing/s at that site.

A maximum of 7 nights stay at any one location for a party during the peak period of April and May. Notifications can only be made up to a maximum of 18 months prior to the day of the drop off. There is no limit on maximum or minimum party size.

If a tramping, rafting or kayaking party is dropped off in one site and getting picked up at another site, or walking/rafting out to a roadend, then notifications at the sites of intended stay are to be entered into the system. Notifications for hunters can be made either side of this day but the hunting party must be advised that the tramping/rafting party has the notification for that site on the particular day so alternative camping arrangements can be made for that particular day if required.

Concessionaires are expected to sell hut tickets for those users wishing to stay in backcountry huts.
